The teaching for science at Sofia Public School is firmly placed on experimentation and investigation, using scientific skills, processes and knowledge to solve problems. Effective teaching and learning of science involves a perpetual state of show and tell.
At Sofia, we combine classroom teaching with laboratory experiments to ensure that our students grasp every concept thoroughly. This way children are able to retain the knowledge for longer when they see the experiments being performed in front of their eyes.
To support this approach the school has three purpose built, fully equipped science laboratories. Science teachers along with the lab assistant plan various demonstrations and experiments to ignite the curiosity and inculcate a scientific temperament in the students.

The School library acts as a centre of academic and intellectual development for our students. The school library program serves to instill a love of reading, inspire life-long learning, and foster independent library use. Students visit once a week with their class to check out materials and to practice information literacy skills.
Our library is an inviting space where students may acquire knowledge and gain insight; a welcoming haven where children may seek respite from a demanding day; a stimulating place where they may open books and open their minds for a better tomorrow.
The library subscribes to national and international periodicals, journals and newspaper. Care has been taken to ensure books are available for various age levels with a good mix of Fiction, Non-fiction, Classics, books on value education and Science, Earth Science and others.
The school has an experienced and well qualified nurse who is on call throughout the school hours. The infirmary is well equipped with all necessary first aid and primary medical care equipment. In the case of more serious ailments the nurse immediately gets in touch with the parent/ guardian. No medication is administered to the student without the permission of the parent. Students are given necessary care in consultation with the parent with regard to drugs, diet etc.
The school has partnered with Regal Hospital, Thanisandra Road for ambulance and emergency services. Our students’ well-being is a priority, and we offer comprehensive health services to address their needs.
