Having grown up as an avid reader, I cannot emphasise the importance of books and reading enough, especially on the young mind. My reading is reflected in every single aspect of my life, from its personal to professional aspects. Books have helped me develop my vocabulary, patience, skills and knowledge. It has not just shaped my interests and imagination, but my worldview as well.

The medium of books holds the unique capability of nurturing imagination, allowing people to add their own perspectives to the stories they read. In case of non-fiction, books offer depth through their call for deep concentration.

As a teacher, I think that reading books is very important for school children. It offers a source of relaxation and enjoyment without causing overstimulation. Secondly, it broadens their vocabulary, knowledge and worldview. Thirdly, it helps enhance attention span and develop patience. Finally, it fosters a sense of imagination and creativity amongst young people- which is a key skill for the next generation that will lead the world.

So, keep reading and keep growing!
